Bray Rapid Event:

Galway Chess club was represented most ably by two of our leading lights Ziadan Zukipli and Oissine Murphy !!  A six round event with a time control of 25 mins each played on the last Sunday in June.  A very well run and enjoyable event.

Ziadan was joint 2nd with 5/6pts to the progressive Irish IM Sam Collins on 6/6pts, among the large no. of people on tied 2nd was the famous GM Suba of Romania who has graced a number of Irish tournaments.  Incidently he was beaten by one of the new generation Delaney's which we must imagine was a fantastic feeling for the young gun, Damian I think it was. Oissine picked up a nice grading prize with 4/6 having had to play Ziadan in the final round which denied him a 5th point for a share of 2nd place. These two players do much work (at home and with coaches) in preparation for these competitive environs and it paying them dividends (literally).
