The Galway Bridge Centre is the home of the Galway Chess Club (both senior and junior clubs).   It is located on St. Mary's Road, Galway - opposite St. Mary's College.

Driving directions to the Centre

Coming into galway from almost every direction brings you to the 'new' bridge over the corrib (the Quincentennial bridge). cross this bridge heading west and take the first left at the traffic lights (Newcastle Road). keep going through 4 more sets of lights (past the hospital, past a pub called the Thatch at Cooke's corner) and the Bridge Centre is on the left, about 250 yards after the last set of lights. it is the only building on St. Mary's Road that does not look like a residential house.

Please note that during the week, parking for the centre is across the road in the grounds of St. Mary's College - car park entrance is immediately to the right after turning in under the arch about 200m down the road from the centre.   Car parking in the grounds of the Bridge Centre itself is only allowed for members of the Bridge Centre itself.  Other cars are subject to clamping.
