May 2010 Blitz :
May winner - Zaidan Zulkipli 8.5 out of 9pts .... 2nd - Brendan Buckley ... 3rd - Ossine Murphy.
For our final speed event before the summer break we gave everyone 5 mins. Zaidan showed his class once again, Indie should get a special mention - the only participant to take half a point from our winner. Four of us ended up on 6/9 pts, joint second ... so we had a little play-off. Mark Monaghan and Felix Calleja being squeezed out in the semi's. A nice evening to end our season and finally .... congratulations to the newly qualified Dr. Zulkipli , we are hoping that you get a posting here in Galway ...
April 2010 Blitz :
April winner - Zaidan Zulkipli 10 out of 11pts .... 2nd - Ossine Murphy ... 3rd - Felix Calleja.
This was our last handicap event and as can be seen giving a certain contestant 2 mins or 5 mins makes no difference to where th finishes. The only conclusion the author can make is to do away with the handicap system and may the best player win ! Not far away were Ossine on 9pts and Felix had 8pts.
